DH and I never seem to be able to agree on stuff.  Whenever I bring up budget stuff he always wants to cut stuff from the kids, but he never wants to give up anything.  So we both keep spending whatever we spend with no plan and no savings except for some 401k and IRA money.  It is scary as all get out and we should not be where we are.

How owuld you go about doing this?  How do you find out if certain alternatives to what you are doing are realistic?  Like whether an au pair would really work for you instead of a nanny (for example)?[/quote]
