I have to agree that you may regret planning on taking everyone out. I'm kind of amazed at your mother's story. My elderly mother was in the hospital for a long time last year and was weak as a kitten when she came home. Good for your mom for getting on a plane.
OP here: Yep my mom is a real pistol, but frankly, I'm nervous about it. She's SO much work. So I begged her to bring a family friend--to chaperone her on the flight and basically, take care of her while she is here, but NOOOOO. She got all mad at me, and said, "I don't know why you act like I'm a burden. No one else thinks I'm a burden. I'm completely independent!"---this said from a hospital bed with a full nursing staff to bring her every meal, administer every medication, and bathe and shower her. And a private duty nurse who runs errands for her! Don't get me wrong, I am so lucky to have her; just wish she would allow me to do it a little more on my own terms so it would be easier for me.
