Mark 2:17 Jesus says - I do not come for the healthy but for the sick. In the Orthodox Church, God as the Great Physician is emphasized. The Church is a hospital where all may come for healing from what ails them - everything from gluttony to pride.
Is this lifted from the Republican replacement plan for healthcare?
What a worthless remark.
was it? it's pretty similar to what ron paul or santorum would say as a healthcare policy for the nation. the sick, poor, or chronically ill can get their healing through the church or charity. providing them access to affordable 'science-y' healthcare is not necessary or feasible.
It's worthless because the original comment had nothing to do with politics. The pp was trying to say that Christianity is not for perfect people, it's for the rest of us. OP may look at someone and see a fat slob, God looks at that person and sees his amazing, beautiful creation. When I look at my child, I see the most beautiful little girl in the world, with so much potential. When God looks at me, he sees the same.
