You might have jumping spiders. They look a bit like wolf spiders, but are a bit stockier and hairier.

Wolf spiders don't jump much, they are mostly ground spiders. I had a nest get disturbed when a tree fell right outside the door of my townhouse during Isabel. They nest in groups of around 300 spiders and decided my townhouse was their new home. Those things freak me the eff out and Raid is barely effective since you have to use half a can on each one due to their thick exoskeletons. [/quote]

It was much like living in the movie Arachnophobia, truly. First I screamed and cried because I am terrified of tiny spiders, these were the things of nightmares. Then I bought out the Raid aisle at the grocery store so I would always have a can at hand. Next I tried to sleep with the lights on, my sheets tented over my body (but only after I made sure there weren't any in my bed), and with towels shoved under my bedroom door but instead redeveloped the insomnia I had experienced in college when my roommate would have relations in the bed next to mine and I took to wandering the dorm halls to avoid it. After the morning I got up, and no joke, there were 27 of them on the linoleum by the front door and leading down the hallway to the kitchen/living area, I called my landlord for the fifth or sixth time and told him I was going to subtract the cost of an exterminator from my rent if he didn't send one for me. He finally sent one, and they dumped poison all around the inside and outside perimeters, which I'm sure was super healthy for me, but whatever, no more spiders.[/quote]
