I don't understand this comment.  Elem. school is the foundation of their education.  It's where they learn to love or hate school, reading, math, etc.  It's the easiest time to pick up a foreign language, learn to throw a ball in P.E, learn to play an instrument, etc.  Overall, it's a crucial growth period that should be capitalized upon not [b]dismissed as unimportant[/b].

OP Here.  If we're not making generalizations, then the PP mischaracterizes my original post as a "race to be the brightest."  I'm just trying to compile the comments about individual school approaches from other threads into one where it can be helpful.  And so far there have been some helpful responses.  But this other noise is getting in the way.[/quote]
