You're right OP. we are in RHPS/NCC and really like it. I loved Rosemary Hills even though I didn't expect to- it has a special vibe, kind of uniquely focused on very young kids, no hulking 5th graders with their attitude and electronics! I like NCC now, it really feels like a neighborhood school, and I'm thrilled for one less year of middle school and the looong commute to Westland. My younger child should matriculated in time to be in the new middle school, and I'm happy about that too. The only hard part is leaving behind friends at the end of 2nd grade, my child still misses buddies at CCES. But they all seem to adapt well, and the past contact should make the larger middle school mix a tiny bit more familiar.
Another RHPS/NCCES parent here - this is a very good analysis. RHPS is a wonderful school and we have loved NCC so far. Very excited for the new middle school, but the 6th grade in ES is a big plus that will go away then. Another thing to consider is if you have more than one kid, they are likely to be in different schools for many more years in this setup than a traditional one.
