From a guy's perspective, for what it's worth, I've been lifting weights for 15 years and I regret not working with a PT at one point or another due to lack of finances when I was young and being stubborn. How hard is it to walk into a gym and lift weights? Right? But I was wrong there's so many benefits of working with a PT from proper form and how to take care of your body. My goals were to gain muscle and mass and I would've probably had better gains if I did have a PT so yeah I think it's definitely worth it! I see so many people at the gym not knowing what they're doing and either they quit due to frustration from not seeing gains or get injured, I cringe when someone is doing squats by rounding their backs, big time or watching women lift 2lb dumbbells a zillion times. I learned through practice and scouring the internet for all the fitness tips I can get, right now I'm thinking about hiring an online personal trainer because there always something I can use whether I need to tweak my form or improve my mobility. It's work in progress as they say. But the aim is to get a good PT, even if they're certified doesn't mean they are the right fit for you. Someone who will motivate and more importantly teach you how to train the right way so when it's time to be on your own you will take your workouts to the next level.
