I am interested in having my daughter privately screened for a learning disability. This might be a stupid question, but what is the name of the actual testing called? I need to know this to find out if it is covered by our insurance.
There isn't one test. It is a series of different tests that give results that need to be analyzed. At DC's last evaluation, she used WISC IV, TAPS, CTOPP, WJII NU, WRAML -2, Bender 2, GORT -5, GSRT, WIAT III, she analyzed the reports from teachers, DC, and parents for the DSM IV Rating Scale and the Achenbach Scales, and TOVA-8 V. I don't know if this is normal as DC has several profound/severe LDs and ADHD. Only the tests relating to ADHD were covered by insurance. Everything else is deemed "educational".
