Don't call the school.  That would just be annoying, and they can't do a thing about it.  This is all on the city council and the mayor's office.  It requires a change in law, one that most immersion schools would greatly appreciate.[/quote]

Sure.  Yu Ying would love to be able to accept Chinese-speaking students into its older grades, and has tried to lobby for a change in the law, but the [b]Chinese-speaking population in DC is very small and without political clout.  [/b]Whether or not LAMB wants to see a change (and they might not, because part of the Montessori method is starting from age 3-4 to begin with), there are other schools that would like it.[/quote]

Correction, the mandarin speaking population is small without clout.  The Cantonese population is much larger and has lots of ties (some not so ethical) to DC politics.
