I have no comment on the thread.  But what is wrong with comparing children to dogs?  Dogs have the intelligence of a two-year-old.  They are sentient.  They have a closer relationship with humans than any other species.  They work as seeing eye dogs, assistance dogs, and bomb-sniffing dogs.  They make wonderful companions.  Dog owners tend to live longer.  I could go on.

I just do not see the comparison as an insult.  Actually, I think you have insulted dogs.[/quote]
