Similar experience.  It took me about 3-4 months to realize the job was a bad fit (and I also got a new boss during that time, and she and I really did not get along which of course made things worse).  It was actually an inter-company transfer, but my old job had been filled by then so going back was not an option.  I started looking around, first internally, then expanded my search externally and it took a few more months until I landed a new job.  All in, I was in the "bad fit" position for a little over a year.  [/quote]
