People get robbed with frequency in Georgetown and Foggy Bottom.  A guy was beaten almost to death in Capitol Hill.  Chandra Levy died in Rock Creek Park.  Read this ticker from the crime section in the Post - plenty of degenerates in VA and MD too.  http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime
