It starts to get pretty intense around level 8 or so as far as being more proned to injuries (imo).  It is a serious commitment for both the kid and the family.  I would advise to take it one year at a time and do a serious check in with your kid.  My niece is made it on her high school's very competitve dance team for her senior year and she's excited she can be a teenager her last year.  Good luck![/quote]
