Well, you seem to know everything. Best of luck to you.
Not really...I just don't know why people are so fearful of people switching industries...especially in sales and marketing. I mean in all honesty...I feel I can do anything...mostly because of my solid work ethic and talent for being able to learn things quickly. I just feel like I should be doing something bigger than what I am. I feel so small and insignificant. I can't really change my overall field, but I am certain I would be more valuble to someone else, something more meaningful or at least something more on a larger scale. I came into my job doing one thing, now I am the head of a department I knew nothing about...Not only am I rocking it in that department it is all about this one specific thing...which now I have literally become an expert in. I have the degree without the degree...sorry I can't be too specific.
Great. Sounds like you don't need advice from anyone here, then. PS- I work in marketing for a law firm/consultancy - make $240K.
Did they require that you have a law background? Did you start in a lower level position and work your way up? Advice...The people on here are not giving advice. I feel you can learn an industry...you don't think you could have friend who said...hey Bob I own a sneaker manufacturing company mostly doing private label shoes and want to potentially break into creating my own brand...and you couldn't come up with industry standards? Pricing, competition, cost of entry, barriers to entry, etc? Maybe even say...you know what is missing in the market...sandals that are made from grass....whatever. If you are marketer...you are a marketer. If you are good...you are good.
