sounds familiar of when I was dx'd with HPV. I am pretty sure I was biopsied during a follow-up.
I'm this poster. My dx of HPV was about 20 years ago (I'm 43 now), and everything is such a blur since then! I had a colposcopy, which someone else referenced, in my next exam with the doc. I don't recall any long-term trauma/drama from it, so it must not have been terrible. I guess they didn't like whatever was in the colposcopy and had cryosurgery in the doc's office shortly after. The cryo didn't "fix" everything, so I had laser ablation a few months later at an outpatient surgical center. I have normally fairly low blood pressure (to the point where nurses usually have a surprised look on their faces) and the cryo really knocked me out, if you will. The laser ablation didn't affect me anywhere near the same extent. After the laser ablation, I've been fine, so that's going on 19+ years. I did have something "a tiny bit abnormal" in the fall at my pap. My Gyn said "On a scale of 1-10 in degree of severity, this is about a 1." She suggested it could have been because my period started the next day. Anyway, she told me to go in for a repeat Pap in a "better part" of my cycle in 6 months, and my appt. is in about 10 days. I am not worried, just dread that exam. Always dread it!!! Good luck, OP. Keep the faith and keep not panicking. I remember freaking out when the doctor's nurse called me 20 years ago. The majority of women are affected with HPV at some point of their lives.
