We're looking to buy in the Timber Lane school district that feeds into McLean HS. I'm looking at the boundary map and it's an island with the areas next to it feeding into either City of FC or Marshall. I also heard that Timber Lane is a split feeder, feeding into either Falls Church HS or McLean HS. Is there any talk of changing the current boundary from McLean HS to have it feed into Falls Church HS or Marshall? Is McLean HS considered overcrowded?
This has been discussed before. Literally, it's not an island on the boundary map, although it's close. I actually wouldn"t worry too much about the McLean section of Timber Lane getting redistricted. Timber Lane contributes most of the diversity to McLean, so it would be controversial to reassign the area. In addition, for administrative purposes, Timber Lane is part of the McLean pyramid. If it were moved to Marshall or Falls Church, that would leave McLean with only four elementary schools in the pyramid, which is fewer than any other high school in the county.
