What do you think about the following scenario? A and B are coworkers. B works part time, never comes in early and leaves very early. B is immature and a slacker but knowing how to work the system has served B well. A is one of the few people who knows this about B because B is good at making others think well of B. B has taken to coming in early and leaving late. But just early enough to make it to the office before A and waits until right after A leaves to leave. B is not working harder or completing additional work. B spends the extra time pretending to work but only when B believes someone might notice. B only cares about public appearances and has never been shy about openly displaying B's laziness. What do you think has caused B to change? If this was your spouse, what would you think of B?
So, your spouse is A and is complaining about something? Is he concerned that B is doing this to report his hours to the boss? Honestly, I think that there is absolutely no conclusions to draw from this, it is a paragraph devoid of meaning. You only provided half of the information, because one cannot draw conclusion what exactly caused B's behavior, was there something A was doing? If A was not doing anything and B's behavior just changed all of a sudden, chances are there must be something else going on with B that is unrelated to A. Maybe B was reprimanded by the boss, or perhaps assigned additional responsibilities, or B's daycare options changed, or whatever. It can not be even related to the work at all, but have to do with B's personal life.
