I am looking for something that requires minimal time understanding the programming interface--which would lean towards the Fuelband, I think. But I like the sleep feature of the Fitbit. Also, I bike to work and am wondering how either of these would handle that.
I have Nike Fuel Band. I'm very happy with it. It is very simple and easy to use. You can sleep with it, but I don't since I don't like having anything extra on me while I sleep. So cannot speak to how it measures your sleep activity. As for biking, I'd done both street biking and stationary biking. Street biking is no problem. I biked 30+ miles yesterday, speed around 12 mi/hour. I didn't really keep track, but I think it registered about 1500-1800 fuel points on my trip. Stationary bike is different story, it doesn't really track it well. I usually stick the band in my sock and it does measure some points, but I don't think it is accurate. I get more points for folding laundry then for stationary biking. I thought about getting fit bit too, but decided against it. Main draw back for me was how you wear it. You have to put it on your clothing, which to me means easy to lose or forget. Fuel band is on your hand and very little chance of having it thrown in laundry or left in a pocket somewhere. The only complaint I have about fuel band is that you cannot add an activity not possible to track - like swimming, or if you forgot to wear it.
