So, we are hosting a (VERY) small family gathering for breakfast on Sunday and I will serve tea type sandwiches as the main food. I will NOT serve eggs, bacon, potato casserole, sausages, or any other food of the typical American breakfast. We just came back from London and I must confess I felt in love with their tea food.... yumm! So, I want to do something similar, but I need ideas. I am thinking: smoked salmon, roast beef, turkey breast, cucumber, egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, ham and prosciutto I bought a little bit of each of these things today. I also got some mascarpone, plain cream cheese, creme faiche, horseradish sauce, plain butter, fine herbs butter, some fresh herbs (basil, dill, chives) and watercress. Cheeses: brie, goat, mozzarella. So, any ideas on how combine these things - I will google of course, but I am open to try "new" things. I am thinking of making two sandwiches of each combination and cutting each sandwich into 2 small rectangles or 4 squares. Really small so we have room to try a variety. I will also serve warm scone with clotted cream and jam, plus fruit salad and fresh strawberries (they can eat it with clotted cream or mascarpone I guess - or plain). So, ideas are welcomed:)
