I think some RE's push to treatment before diagnosis-- which can get expensive.

Also- what is your insurance like?  It sounds like you are paying out of pocket for the IUI plus monitoring.  If you are just doing monitoring could it be coded as a 'gynecological ultrasound" instead of a fertility treatment- and would that make a difference for insurance coverage?  (I'm pretty sure it makes a big difference for me).

The jury is still out on this one-- but if you don't have a male factor issue there is a good chance that the IUI is not putting you in any better shape than TI.  [/quote]
