However, if you have a Roth IRA, or think you might want to convert a prior retirement account to a Roth IRA, then you can't/shouldn't do it. Also, if there are specific funds that you want to invest in then you shouldn't. I have seen some comments that TSP's int'l fund is a little limited, excluding emerging markets and small caps, so that might be another reason to have some investments outside TSP.[/quote]
