Haycock's situation with its huge student population is going to force some major changes soon. I'd venture to say that if you're HS is not McLean AND MS is not Longfellow, then you're likely to get cut first.
The only ones left that don't feed to Longfellow McLean is part of FS that feeds to Langley, which cannot be very many children. I guess there are a few from Timberlane that mght not feed into Longfellow/McLean, but Timberlane sends so few students that I can't imagine it could be more than 5 students total that don't feed to Longfellow/McLean form Timberlane. They would not likely split FS or TL and send it to 2 different centers. When they removed the "Cluster 2" schools, they removed everyone from Lemon Road and Westgate even though they are both split feeders to Kilmer and Longfellow, so they seem to be going by elementary school. I think the hope of FCPS is that enough people will choose LLIV so they don't have to remove anyone else from the center. I think future action depends on how many choose LLIV and how large the base school grows. As for a boundary change, if I had my heart set on Haycock (which I personally do not), I would buy carefully. I don't think you can predict what will happen as there are many variables. I don't think a base boundary change would happen for a few years, if it happened at all. They'd get rid of the center first, which would buy some time.
