This is the 'Save [X]" narrative.  We can believe there are these downsides, particularly for the immediate neighborhood/community.  To translate that into broad oppostion, though, we'd need to see how an alternative doesn't have the same, or worse, downsides, perhaps to other neighborhoods/communities.

MCPS holds the cards, of course. It's not like your average stakeholder can get detailed data for such comparison if MCPS hasn't considered it (or hasn't made such consideration public).  They also can miss out on possibilities to consider by holding those cards close.  That said, I doubt that MCPS has it in for some community or other, targeting them, especially versus simply not deciding to put resources into considering every possibility.[/quote]
