This. I'm Italian-American and my dad was from Verona, so we've spent a lot of time in the region since I was a child. I totoally disagree with the PP who said there is not much to do there!  Lago di Garda is surrounded by gorgeous mountains that you can hike, take a cable car up, mountian bike, etc.  The lake itself is one of the most popular for wind-surfing.  The Valpolicella Valley is close by with beautiful vineyards and wine tastings.  I highly recommend stopping by this winery for a tasting:  https://www.seregoalighieri.it/en  It's been in the family for over 500 years and they're direct descendants of Dante Alighieri.  PPs have already mentioned beautiful towns such as Limone, Malcesine, Sirmione among others.  And Verona is a wonderful city to visit.

I'm the OP, and want to thank everyone who responded, especially this response!  We're into hiking and that was on our list, along with mountain biking.  I'm not sure how much the teens will enjoy wine, but that is on my list - lol![/quote]
