We are now just weeks away from high school graduation. This journey has not been easy, especially for our children with ADHD and ASD. They may not be graduating with the same high GPAs we often see celebrated, but that does not matter. We have navigated detentions, referrals, suspensions, and countless phone calls. There were moments during IEP meetings when it felt like this day might never come, but through it all, our children have succeeded. Please be proud of yourselves and your children for this achievement. On graduation day, be sure to celebrate with something special to mark the occasion.
Oh my goodness yes! We did it!! I used to have knots in my stomach every day around lunch/recess time for a phone call from the elementary school. Senior year has been particularly difficult after a traumatic accident, however DC graduates next week! Don't give up hope!
