My guess is they are treading very carefully with their marketing for the national league. It looks like it is basically just NCSL Division 1 and nothing special.

ECNL-RL is still somewhat prestigious--you have to apply as a club and be accepted and have teams in every level--and they don't want to do anything to damage or water down that "brand". They aren't going to promote single teams from National 1 up to ECRL. [/quote]

I agree. Clubs would rather advertise playing in the "new National league" then "NCSL". NCSL is seen as the lowest level and having a rec division doesn't help that. People are chading prestige and would rather say their kid plays in the "national league" than "NCSL" even if they are basically the same thing.[/quote]
