Anyone have a good experience selling gold in the DMV? Any recs for stores? We’ve got a lot of old jewelry with no sentimental value that we’re thinking it might be a good time to sell. Thx.
Tysons Watch & Jewelry Exchange is good. Know your weights and karats before you go in so you’ll already have a fair selling price in mind. Don’t settle for anything more than 5% under spot. If you trade, rather than sell for cash, you may be able to negotiate a hefty discount on a nice watch or bigger jewelry piece. The Vault Jewelry & Loan is good too, more of a traditional pawn shop but not scuzzy. It used to be way better as the independent Route 50 Gold & Silver, but they sold out and went corporate franchise. Still a great spot because the long-time staff knows their stuff, and the items for sale make for great browsing. Probably the best place locally to sell gold and silver for straight cash.
