I had this done recently -- I bought a Groupon for 3 treatments so it was very reasonable, but the non-Groupon price was over $100/session. I went 3 times, once every 4 weeks, and was very pleased with the look/feel and the minimal amount of regrowth while I was on that schedule. Then I got pregnant and stopped going (co-incident with the end of the Groupon) and had a lot of regrowth very fast: not sure if that was hormones or what. I previously had had my legs lasered at a different facility (6+ treatments) and have not had much regrowth even during pregnancy, so it could be that 3 treatments just aren't enough. The woman who did my legs said that most people have to come back once every year or so, after their initial 6-10 treatments, for touch-ups. RE styling, you have to shave the area to be lasered, so you just shave it the way you want it. You do need to tell the clinician where your outer boundary of hair was prior to shaving, though, so that they extend the treatment out far enough. IMO, it does not hurt as much as waxing. But, like waxing, it hurts more the first time than subsequent times. You also may have red inflamed skin and/or red bumps for a couple days after the first treatment, so be aware of that if you are getting ready for a special occasion.
