Hi all. I'm looking for a recommendation for where to do neuropsych/psychoeducational testing for my 9 year old daughter (current 3rd grader) somewhere in the Springfield/Burke/Fairfax area - suspected ADHD (inattentive type) and possible dysgraphia, maybe some other stuff going that's not on my radar as clearly. She's bright, but very spacey and has executive functioning challenges. Her teacher doesn't really see issues in class, beyond almost illegible handwriting and difficulty getting written ideas to paper. She's still having issues with consistent letter/number reversals and more general issues with spatial planning when she writes by hand. Her ideas, while complete and thought through, look kind of like they spilled out onto the page, without a plan for how they would fit or flow from line to line. She can dictate thoughts well and is working on typing, but she's starting to shy away more from writing by hand because it feels so laborious to her and she's trying to write the bare minimum in responses because it feels hard. I've brought up concerns with school and we've worked endlessly on handwriting at home for years, but no one in school seems particularly concerned. She's doing well academically and seems successful in Level IV AAP in FCPS, but I remember 4th grade being such a step up for my older daughter with both academic expectations and the general pace of things. I worry that if we don't try to sort out some of these writing struggles and figure out how to help better, her frustration may build in bigger ways next year. We've been through neuropsych testing with my older daughter but it was in another state, so I'd love some more local recommendations. Thank you so much!
