I do not have fond memories of studio rent in DC in 1991 or my DH (then boyfriend) auditioning to be accepted as a roommate so he could overpay for a bedroom in a group house. One of those ratty houses was recently gutted and sold for $1M+. I lived in a one room studio for 7 years which is how I had no problem skipping a move-up to a 4 BR when I finally entered the homeownership phase of life. The extra money mainly fuels a difficult to afford property cycle.[/quote]
