8th grade Algebra is still going to be the norm. She will be able to take calculus as a senior in HS, which is what most of the top schools are looking for.

The question is does she love math and want to take A1H or is she indifferent or against the idea? If she really wants to because she loves math, then go for it. If she is indifferent or doesn’t want to take the class, then don’t. Don’t put her in it because you are worried how it will look. [/quote]

This is the answer. Strong marks to whoever wrote it. She will not been seen as behind and setting her up to do well in her math will do more for her-more confidence, better grades, etc [/quote] This. Can't help but think this weird acceleration plan is setting alot of kids up for failure in Algebra II.[/quote]
