This is helpful.[/quote] We are in a different LSC, but most of them determine how many heats they want for each event in prelims for championship meets. Then they examine the times from a certain number of past championships and use the to make the time standards. Our LSC takes the past 5 years and looks at the times of the 32nd seed and then uses some calculation involving that time and the current time standard, or chooses a USA motivational time if the average is too slow. I’m not sure of the details, but if there is a protocol for your LSC, it should be in the bylaws. [/quote]
