Screen for reliability when you do reference checks. But I agree that avoiding aftercare is important and worthwhile for some kids. I would ignore the advice about an au pair which is clearly from some agency rep. Those girls are just too young. I had a hard time being patient with a baby and young child and they were my kids! I would never leave a young inexperienced person with a baby who can’t talk. And most of them are not good drivers no matter what they tell you in the interviews.[/quote]
