Just embrace it. A coworker pointed out the other day that all winter I've worn some variety of cream top, camel sweater, black pants, and at first I was embarrassed and then I was like...whatever. I've gained weight and a lot of my clothes don't fit and also like, I know I look good with cream and camel next to my face so who cares. Oddly enough I do tend to wear brighter colors but while losing the weight, buying new clothes that fit hasn't been a priority so I add my brights back in as they start to fit again, lmao. If you're that worried about it, spring for a color and style analysis. Or DIY it and use Ellie-Jean Royden's style roots system to figure out what works for you.
I'd act normal but keep an inward side-eye on this coworker if fashion/yourselves was not the topic because that's the hell of a thing to verbalize. OP, accept the style and know that you look normal/comfortable and not like a try-hard. I'm a person who can't do trends- both because they look so bad on me and because they make me self-conscious. Minimally trying new things here and there is fine if you feel like it but a person who wears all the trends has no style.
