If OP got in-boundary preference, then she listed an address in-boundary. For enrollment, she doesn't have to prove she lives at that address but she does need to show she is living somewhere in the boundary. OP, rent something less than satisfactory in-bounds and live with it for a year. Or don't enroll your kids now and try again once you buy a house there. Once you're in grades K-12 they have to take you at your IB school at any time. If any of your kids are in PK3 or 4, they'll get sibling preference on the waitlist once their older siblings enroll. But "I'd prefer to live out of bounds and right now I don't live in DC at all" is not going to fly with the registrar. There are enrollment audits. They need to follow rules. [/quote]
