We're both contractors and I was in a more precarious situation; I expected to be laid off in the heat of DOGE stuff a year ago. I think financially we probably could have made it work and his job is higher paying and more secure than mine - I was pretty gung ho about taking some time off and being at home for our kids, but I think he didn't feel confident about that at the time. Ultimately I took an internal transfer so still have a job and the jury is out on how I feel about that. But bottom line, I think DH was really nervous given the circumstances.[/quote]
