[/quote] I'm the PP who stated colleges look down on middle school algebra, and this is essentially what I meant to say. I myself took 8th grade algebra as part of an accelerated MCPS program almost 20 years ago. Sixth grade algebra is a bit of a stretch, in my opinion, and the county would do well to offer some kind of accelerated math class to 6th graders so that they do not have to repeat a course, but save algebra for 7th or 8th grade.[/quote]
