Measure the room, measure anything you're keeping, and take that to a store with free design services. Or a few. Room and Board, Ethan Allen, Ballard, etc etc. Use the free designs to figure out your floorplan. How big the couch needs to be. The coffee table. The rug. Etc etc. Don't worry at all about the actual things they recommend - just the dimensions. THEN go furniture shopping. Then and only then. [/quote]
