- Sidwell
- NCS
- STA
- GDS
- BASIS is a bit different but is known for a very accelerated curriculum and a lot of work

Sidwell and GDS in particular tend to come up a lot in conversations about academic intensity.

Very strong academically but usually described as slightly more balanced:
- Holton
- Potomac
- Landon
- Mart
- Stone Ridge

Still rigorous, but the vibe tends to be less competitive and more focused on intellectual curiosity and student well-being:
- St. Andrew’s
- Field
- Burke
- Washington International

My question also. I'm guessing whenever any of these are described as pressure cooker, it must be referring to upper/high school. Definitely not elementary, maybe by the time of 7th or 8th?[/quote]
