We are a soccer family who has been privy to the manipulation, the greed, the corruption, and the nastiness of girls travel soccer in Northern Virginia. We began with the St James, only to find out that it was a money grab (still is). This facility is a money making machine. They don't care about your child. We forfeited practices due to lacrosse tournaments, other soccer clubs practicing, really anything that could bring in money other than the very team they were supporting and endorsing. They don't care about you. They care about your wallet and what you can do for them. Stay far away. They may be paying big dollars to the coaches you love, but they don't care about your child. They are greedy and even have coaches who are currently with other teams wearing their brand and recruiting. They are trying to dominate the NOVA area with their $$$$. Don't let them win. Stay on your teams and trust the process with the coaches your club has chosen for you. The grass is not greener.
No coach cares about your kid. If they have families of their own, they care about their kids. Every coach is worried about his or her own bottom line. Winning games, getting paid , looking for more money or better opportunities. You cant blame them for that. Sure they'd love to get your kid into a nice d1 college but again its self serving as they'll take some of the credit to lure in a new set of skilled players. Nobody cares about the well being of your kid outside of yourself. Dont think any program whether it be ecnl, rl, ga is any different.
I fully agree that at the end of the day, it's a job for them and a job that rewards in both $ and professional satisfaction if their teams and players do well. But I don't think that means "no coach cares about your kid." Our experience has been very positive with coaches who invest "caring" in the team and players. That "caring" shows in things like not prioritizing winning above all else and player development that will benefit the player in the future. And finding opportunities for the player that don't only benefit the coach. Find one of those coaches if you feel your coach doesn't care about your kid! They are around!
