Depending how fast the hair grows, roots are bleached every few months. You need to make sure your DD is ok with the blonde that is left after color washes out- salon color lasts about 6 weeks, at home kits we have tried fade much faster. Also the toothbrush up is where it will be important that your DD visits a salon or educates herself on DIY.

I also recommend color wow shampoo- it’s $$$ but helps preserve the color.

This is not a one time thing for your DD- it is an ongoing maintenance situation and home color kits can dry the hair after multiple uses.

Can she do just a partial color? Salons can get creative with color without bleaching an entire head of hair. You have to be carried with brown to blonde as it can pull orange if not done right. [/quote]
