Ahh, why do folks say this? Especially this year, I've been seeing "school A" is a safety for "school B" ... when general knowledge/annual observation suggests those schools have very similar admit rates. I've seen DCUM call either Burke or Field the harder admit in recent years, and but they likely average out about the same. Ditto with GDS as compared to Maret. You're also not dealing with large numbers the way colleges are, so just a few more kids applying (or not applying) will knock the admit rate all over the place.

OP, some schools will WL anyone who they can't admit [b]or[/b] who they can't give aid to, while others will split those decisions. Meaning you can be offered admission, but waitlisted for aid. (That's another reason it's hard to guess at admissions rates based on what folks post on this board). I'd ask the schools how they manage WLs + financial aid, and that may help gauge where you stand. Good luck!!
