Does anyone have experience with the gynecological oncology group at Sibley? I have an apt for a biopsy. The doctor I met with did not have great bedside manner. But if they are good at what they do that isn’t important.
I don't have any experience but a bad bedside manner would be a deal breaker for me. Shows they don't care. I think you should keep looking for another doctor and I hope you get good recommendations here.
News flash: Drs really do not care about you. You are a customer. Frankly I'd rather have a Dr be good at their job and treat it like a transaction. I don't expect my mechanic to listen to my life's story...just fix my car and charge me a fair price. You are not a special snowflake.
I disagree. I had cancer and my breast surgeon was wonderful. She put off going to a big family event once so that she could meet with me. She didn’t tell me about this, I just heard the office staff discussing how she was trying to leave for it later. And she is an excellent and super well respected surgeon. Her bedside manner makes it easy to talk to her about issues and to make a decision about treatment together. And I trust her to tell me when I can decide or when I need to follow her guidance. Bedside manner matters for care.
