I do think there is something cultural about summer break but it's no longer a need. The new need is to not lose learning. I'd love to see 3 week breaks during the school year and a 6 week summer break. Wrap the holidays/PD into the 3 week breaks. Wouldn't it be lovely to take spend the winter holidays with family AND then go on a nuclear family winter vacation in Jan when prices come down![/quote]
