DD is in her senior yr at Bryn mawr so I have no idea what the increase is for next year, but it was often 4+%. And then there’s McDonogh - amazing school but opening of parent night was presentation on how tuition didn’t cover cost to educate and we should all “mind the gap” and pony up another $5k. I skipped that portion of the evening from then on. If you get a good fit, it can be a fabulous experience but it is really expensive.
That was a common thing private school development offices across the country were saying for a while. My understanding is that most have stopped saying that, because it doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. The best practices for this type of work continues to change. Donate what feels right for you and your family, if anything at all. Participation of any amount is appreciated. Mcdonogh, like many other schools, no longer uses that outdated message.
