But it can also work against you. You could have a 90.4 which is a 90 and an 88.4, which is an 88 and you end up with an 89 semester B even though those are mathematically ever so slightly higher raw grades. If you average without rounding first, avg is 89.4 which is B The rounding first gives a few more student an A but doesn’t drop anyone to a B who would not otherwise have a B [/quote]
