DE means credit granted from a college and simultaneous credit granted from high school.

The class can be taught at the college (in person or online) or at the high school, depending on local arrangement. Some FCPS high schools (including  TJ) have some DE classes at the high school.

A school can also choose to not start with setting up DE at all, and just offer their own class with no college credit. (But PP might be confused and not realize that their in school class actually is DE).[/quote]

Actually, in FCPS:

- class taught in the HS/online through FCPS = DE (kid gets credit both at the college and HS)

- class taught at a college for which FCPS also grants credit = concurrent enrollment

So while both grant reciprocal credit, it is not called DE if taught at a college (in FCPS)
