Does taking summer classes (PE, Econ) to free up electives help, hurt or not make an impact on college admissions? Trying to make sure there is school/life balance for DD.
I don't think so. A lot of TJ kids take PE/Econ/Language in the summer to make room for higher level classes.
+1 If you mean TJ I think it's pretty standard to do summer classes 2 - 3 years. But my kid did band so this was essential to create space for any other academic electives. They did PE, the extra social studies course that needed done, and of course the Personal Finance credit. If you don't plan to do Lang all 4 years then doing one over the summer makes sense to get it done with sooner. (I think this is more common for those that do Spanish since that's dreaded at TJ.)
