One of my biggest takeaways with wildlife there was bears are everywhere! Cool to see them, but kind of concerning if you're into hiking. I hike alone all the time, wouldn't feel comfortable doing that in Alaska. Locals are kind of unfazed by them and treat them like we treat deer. Hotel I stayed at required you to take a bell into the parking lot at night. Couple nights prior a bear had broken into a car for a bag of Doritos. [/quote]
