Also, they're the ultimate decision-maker/advisor. Paralegals are primarily just researching as the preliminary stages for an attorney to make decisions or give advice. I'm an attorney and our paralegal pretty much just puts requests into AI now and it's on us to verify the research/ results. Outside of some admin tasks, she's unintentionally kind of made herself replaceable, but we love her and she's so good at the other stuff, she has infinite job security from us. Otherwise, we could get a legal assistant for much cheaper. [/quote]
